Annecy Rafting: Rafting is a sport that involves navigating large inflatable boats (up to 8 people) on rivers with varying degrees of rapids. On larger rivers, there is always a guide or “boatman” per raft and between 4 and 8 passengers per boat!
Rafting around Annecy can be enjoyed on two beautiful rivers: the Upper Isère and the Dranses.
La Haute Isère
About 1 hour’s drive from Annecy, nestled at the base of the major ski resorts of the Tarentaise region, the Upper Isère River offers navigation ranging from Class III to Class IV rapids.
Many national and international competitions take place here every year, notably on the famous slalom course in Bourg St Maurice.
Regulated by the Tignes dam, the water flow is ideal from May 1st to September 30th, during which an agreement with EDF allows for daily water releases of approximately 20 cubic meters throughout the warm season.
Les Dranses
Between Thonon-les-Bains and Evian-les-Bains, above Lake Geneva, 70km from Annecy, the Dranses River is a beautiful river with a natural water flow that allows rafting from spring to autumn.
There are no water supply issues here either since there is also a dam upstream!
At the Annecy Rafting base, you will find all the necessary amenities, including changing rooms, restrooms, and a dining area

What do you want to do?
Descent of the Isère Gorges.
A 1.5-hour family rafting course that can be done without prior experience, alternating between rapids and calmer sections, including the famous gorge crossings, avec la fameuse travers& des gorges.
Sportive Isère Descent
An exciting descent, no prior experience required. You will progressively encounter the most famous rapids on the Isère, one of the most beautiful rafting routes, and, most importantly, the river used for the world kayak championship.
Complete Isère Descent.
23 kilometers of rafting descent, alternating between rapids and calmer stretches. From Bourg Saint Maurice to Centron, the Isère offers one of the most beautiful routes in France.
Classic Dranse Descent
Located 1.5 hours by car from Annecy near Thonon-les-Bains, the Dranses offer one of the most beautiful water routes. An exciting descent where you will gradually encounter the most famous rapids of the Dranses.
Special Dranse Descent
Nestled in the heart of a spectacular landscape, enjoy a 1-hour and 15-minute descent on an emotionally charged course, featuring tumultuous whitewater, frenetic rapids, and breathtaking alpine scenery.
